Privacy notice
Plain English, no lawyer voice: what this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
This notice explains what information Convert PDFs to Excels collects when you visit convertpdfstoexcels.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information. We collect basic, mostly aggregated analytics about how pages are used, and we use affiliate links that may set cookies when you click them. That is essentially the whole story.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that email — your address, your message, and anything you attach. We use it to reply and to fix whatever you told us about. We do not add you to a mailing list on the strength of an email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics record technical details when a page loads: the page requested, the approximate region derived from your IP address, the referring page, and general details about your browser, device and operating system. This is used to understand which articles are read and to spot problems such as broken pages.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use them in a small number of ways:
- Preference storage. When you dismiss the cookie banner, that choice is saved locally so the banner does not reappear on every page.
- Analytics. We use a third-party analytics service to produce aggregate reports about traffic and page performance. Analytics cookies and identifiers are set by that provider, and the reports we see are aggregated rather than tied to a named person.
- Affiliate tracking. When you click a link to a tool we have an affiliate arrangement with, that merchant or its network may set a cookie so any resulting purchase is credited to this site. We do not see your payment details at any point.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "do not track" or equivalent privacy setting. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading anything here; at most, an affiliate purchase may not be credited to us.
Third parties
Some services are involved in delivering this site — hosting, content delivery, analytics — and the merchants we link to operate their own sites under their own policies. Once you follow an outbound link, that destination's privacy notice governs what happens next, and we have no control over it. It is worth reading theirs before you hand over documents or payment details.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained by our analytics provider according to its own retention settings and is aggregated over time. Emails you send us are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you or maintaining a correction record.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information a site holds about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not operate accounts, the information we hold about any individual visitor is minimal. If you would like to make a request, email us and we will do what we reasonably can.
Children
This site is aimed at people doing office and data work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this notice
If our practices change — a different analytics provider, a new category of link — we will update this page to match. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated notice applies.
